What is Lowe Family Farmstead?

Lowe Family Farmstead is Idaho's favorite destination for fall season fun! Located at 2500 South Eagle Road in Kuna, Idaho, Lowe Family Farmstead is a working production farm operated by Jim and Hillary Lowe. Since 1997, we have been entertaining and educating Idaho families featuring Idaho's Original Corn Maze. Over the decades we have grown into a full fall festival destination featuring dozens of attractions, fresh food, a pumpkin patch, a U-Pick flower field, and much more. We have been recognized by TIME Magazine, USA Today, Conde Nast Traveler, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, among other national and regional media outlets.

Who started Lowe Family Farmstead and when?

Lowe Family Farmstead was founded by Jim and Hillary Lowe of Kuna, Idaho, beginning in 1997 with Idaho's Original Corn Maze — the first corn maze of its kind in the state. What started as a single attraction has grown into one of Idaho's most beloved fall traditions, drawing thousands of families each season.

Why should we visit Lowe Family Farmstead instead of other fall festivals?

As Idaho's Original Corn Maze, Lowe Family Farmstead has over 30 years of experience creating world-class fall fun. Unlike temporary pop-up events, Lowe Family Farmstead is a real, working farm. You get an authentic agricultural experience alongside dozens of family attractions, fresh farm-grown food, 27-acre pumpkin patch, acres of flowers, and the magic of our iconic 13 acre corn maze — all in one visit. Is Lowe Family Farmstead a haunted attraction?

No! Lowe Family Farmstead is NOT a haunted attraction. We are a family-friendly fall festival suitable for all ages, including young children. The attraction we call “Rusty the Very Big Beast” may look intimidating, but even he is described as friendly — "This is not a haunted attraction" is printed right on his sign! If you are looking for a scare-free, all-ages fall experience, this is the place.

Where is Lowe Family Farmstead located?

We are located at 2500 South Eagle Road, Kuna, ID 83634. Kuna is a community in the Treasure Valley, just southwest of Boise and easily accessible from the entire greater Boise/Nampa/Meridian/Caldwell area.

Is there parking available?

Yes, parking is available on-site at Lowe Family Farmstead. Platinum Season Passholders receive a Preferred Parking Pass. Standard parking is free. ADA/accessible parking is available. Overflow parking is available on busy days.

2. Hours, Season & Closures

When is the 2026 fall season open?

The 2026 Fall Season runs from September 12 through October 31, 2026. Our hours are:

Monday through Thursday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Friday and Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Sundays: CLOSED

Note: We are CLOSED on Sundays throughout the entire fall season.

Are you open on Sundays?

No. Lowe Family Farmstead is closed every Sunday during the fall season. Please plan your visit for Monday through Saturday.

What are the best days and times to visit to avoid crowds?

To enjoy a less-crowded experience, we recommend:

Weeknights (Monday through Wednesday) — these tend to be quieter.
Weekend visits in September, before the peak October rush.
Typically the busiest days are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in October.
Tuesday is also our $12 Discount Admission day — great value but can draw more guests on nice weather days.

When is the best time to pick pumpkins?

For the best pumpkin selection, plan to visit in early October. The pumpkin patch features over 50 varieties of pumpkins and gourds. Shopping early in the season gives you the widest variety and best picks.

When is the best time to see the flowers?

The flower field is most vibrant in September. If beautiful blooms are a priority for your visit or you want the best photos, aim for a September visit.

Do you close for bad weather?

Lowe Family Farmstead is an entirely outdoor experience and subject to weather conditions. We can handle a bit of light rain, but if conditions become too severe, we may close for safety. Always check our Facebook page (facebook.com/lowefamilyfarmstead) for real-time updates on weather-related closures before you head out.

Do you give refunds if it starts to rain during my visit?

We do not offer refunds. However, if your visit is interrupted by rain, we are happy to provide a Bounceback Pass so you can return on a nicer day and continue the fun!

What happens if I buy tickets online and the farm closes unexpectedly?

We do not offer refunds. However, if your visit is interrupted by a weather closure, we are happy to provide a Bounceback Pass so you can return on a nicer day and continue the fun!

Are all attractions open every day?

Most attractions are included and running throughout the season, but please note that all attractions may not be available at all times due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Call/text 208-922-5678 or check our Facebook page for any day-of updates.

Children ages 3 & under are always free and do not need a pass. Each individual age 4 and older needs their own pass.

What is the Two-Visit Ticket?

The Two-Visit Ticket ($24.99/guest) is a great option for guests who want to experience everything without feeling rushed. It allows two separate visits in one season. This ticket is available online only and cannot be upgraded to at the farm. Blackout dates apply on October Saturdays (October 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31).

Do you offer military discounts?

Yes! A $2 Military discounts are available for admission purchased at the farm gate for the guest with a valid Military ID. This discount cannot be applied to online purchases.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes! Group pricing is available for groups of 25 or more people. Visit our Groups page at lowefamilyfarmstead.com/groups for pricing details and to arrange your group visit. For groups over 100, please fill out our Group Inquiry form at https://www.lowefamilyfarmstead.com/groups.

Do you offer any other deals or discounts?

Can I buy tickets online in advance?

Yes! Tickets are available to purchase through the Buy Tickets button on our website at https://www.lowefamilyfarmstead.com/. We recommend buying online in advance, especially for busy October weekends, to save time at the gate. Tickets are also available for purchase at the farm.

What payment methods do you accept?

For your convenience, credit and debit cards are accepted everywhere on the farm. Cash is accepted at our admissions building and some food locations. We do not accept personal checks.

Do you offer e-Gift Cards?

Yes! You can purchase Lowe Family Farmstead e-Gift Cards online at lowefamilyfarmstead.com/visit or through our Square store. Gift cards can be used for admission, food, pumpkins, flowers, souvenirs, and activities. Minimum value is $10 — a great gift for birthdays, holidays, or any occasion!

Do you offer refunds on online ticket purchases?

No. No refunds are offered for online purchases for any reason. If your visit is rained out partway through, we will provide a Bounceback Pass to return another day.

4. The Corn Maze (The MAiZE)

What is Idaho's Original Corn Maze?

The MAiZE at Lowe Family Farmstead is Idaho's original corn maze, first opened in 1997. Each year, a brand-new design is cut into approximately 14 acres of corn. The maze is divided into two phases, so you can choose to complete one or both depending on your time, skill level, and adventurousness. We also have a Mini MAiZE for younger children who want the experience without the full challenge.

How big is the corn maze?

The MAiZE is cut into approximately 14 acres of corn. It includes Phase 1, Phase 2, and the Mini MAiZE — a shorter, simpler path designed for young children.

How long does it take to complete the corn maze?

Most visitors enjoy 30 to 45 minutes in the maze, which is what we aim for as an average. Because the maze is divided into two phases, you can complete just Phase 1, just Phase 2, or both. Your time will vary depending on your navigation skills, how many wrong turns you make, and how much fun you're having getting corn-fused! If you get completely lost, Farm Crew is available to help guide you out — we won't leave you stuck!

What is the theme of this year's corn maze?

Each year we reveal the maze design leading up to Opening Day! Stay tuned on social media and on our email list to be the first to find out!

What is the Mini MAiZE?

The Mini MAiZE is a shorter, simpler pathway through the corn designed specifically for younger children. It gives little ones the full experience of being in the corn without the complexity of the full adult maze. It's perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who want to enjoy the corn but would rather spend more time on other attractions.

Is the corn maze lit at night?

The corn maze is not lit at night. There may be a little light from the light towers in the pumpkin patch, depending on field locations and your location within the maze. Plan on an extra challenge if you find yourself in the corn maze after sunset!

Is the corn maze safe?

Absolutely! Our Farm Crew is available to assist guests who need help finding their way out. The maze is designed to be fun and challenging, not scary or dangerous. Remember, we are NOT a haunted attraction — just a farm-tastic maze adventure!

Is the corn maze wheelchair or stroller accessible?

Many guests bring wheelchairs and strollers through the maze and other attractions. However, please be aware that each phase of the MAiZE has steps up and down from a bridge, which is not accessible to wheeled vehicles. The ground can also be uneven and bumpy in places. If you are up for the adventure, we welcome you — and the Mini MAiZE may be a more accessible alternative for those with mobility considerations.

What happens to the corn after the season?

After the fall season, all our corn is harvested for cattle feed, along with the rest of the corn on our working production farm. The corn used in the maze is a field corn variety well-suited for cattle — it gets harvested after it has dried out, which aligns perfectly with the end of our fall season.

Can I eat the corn in the maze?

You could try, but we wouldn't recommend it! The corn planted for the maze is a field corn variety suited for cattle feed — it's not the sweet, tender corn you're used to eating. We do grow our own sweet corn in a separate field, which we serve as delicious roasted corn at our food stands. That's the corn you want to eat!

What is Rusty the Very Big Beast?

Rusty is our beloved — and ENORMOUS — farm friend. Many guests have called him a giant dragon, big lizard, or massive monster, but true fans know him by name – Rusty. He breathes smoke, eats pumpkins, and loves meeting guests. He is a one-of-a-kind interactive walk-through experience you won't find anywhere else. And just to be clear: Rusty is NOT a haunted attraction. He is big, dramatic, and totally family-friendly!

What are the Corn Poppers?

The Corn Poppers are our giant Jumping Pillows — larger than most houses! It's the only contraption of its kind in the area, with plenty of room for adults, teens, and children to jump, bounce, and get their wiggles out. Lowe Family Farmstead has two Corn Poppers on-site and guests are separated by height as well as capped by a quantity limit on each jumping pillow. Way more fun and much safer than an enclosed bounce house.

What is The Bee Line?

The Bee Line is a set of six miniature zip lines where you get to 'be the bee' as you zip from hive to flower. It's a thrill for kids and adults alike! There is a weight limit of 200 pounds on each Bee Line.

What are the trains at Lowe Family Farmstead?

We have three barrel train rides, all included with admission:

Grain Train — large, family-sized carts are pulled by tractor around the flower field with a view at sunset that is second-to-none!
Cow Train — a favorite for younger kids, riding in cow-themed tandem barrels
Bee Train — a favorite for younger kids, riding in bee-themed tandem barrels

What are the Pig Races?

The Pig Races are one of the most crowd-pleasing attractions at Lowe Family Farmstead! Watch our adorable little pigs race to see who can reach the cookie first. Audience participation is encouraged — you might even be picked as the 'squeal-leader' for one of the contestants! Shows run on a scheduled basis throughout the day.

What is Gemstone Mining?

The Owyhee Trail Mining Co. sluice is an extra-cost activity where guests can search for gemstones and treasures in the sluice water. It's a huge hit with kids!

What are the Apple Blasters?

Apple Blasters let you fire an apple at targets. Ammunition is available for purchase separately and is not included in admission.

What is the Hayride like?

Our tractor-drawn hayride is an authentic farm experience, with antique and new tractors pulling guests around the corn maze and through the pumpkin patch. Hayrides run continuously throughout the day and into the evening — just hop in line and enjoy the ride!

What is the Flower Field?

Our U-Pick Flower Field features acres of beautiful blooms to explore, photograph, and take home. Flowers are sold in souvenir flower buckets and are NOT included in the cost of admission — they are an additional purchase. The blooms are most vibrant in September, so come early in the season for peak flowers!

Are there activities for very young children (toddlers/preschoolers)?

Absolutely! Lowe Family Farmstead is wonderfully suited for young children. Some of the best activities for little ones include:

Corn Cob Beach — dig and play in corn kernels like a sandbox

6. Pumpkin Patch

How does the Pumpkin Patch work?

Our pumpkin patch is open to all guests with paid admission. Access to the pumpkin patch is included in your admission ticket, but pumpkins themselves are sold separately. You can pick pumpkins directly off the vine in the patch, or choose from pre-picked pumpkins available near the entrance for convenience.

How many varieties of pumpkins do you have?

We offer more than 50 different varieties of pumpkins and gourds — one of the largest selections in the region! From tiny jack-be-littles to giant carving pumpkins, white and blue heirloom varieties, warty bumpy pumpkins, and everything in between.

How much do pumpkins cost?

Pumpkin pricing: $0.47 per pound

Mini Gourd pricing: $2 each

When should I come for the best pumpkin selection?

Come in early October for the widest selection. As the season progresses, inventory sells down. The patch typically has pumpkins available through the end of the season, but for the best variety, earlier is better.

Can I take the Grain Train to the pumpkin patch?

No, you cannot. The Grain Train travels through and around the flower field, which is on the opposite end of the farm. The Grain Train is on the west side of the farm, so guests can catch a spectacular sunset if they time their ride just right!

7. Food & Drinks

Is food available at Lowe Family Farmstead?

You bet! We serve a variety of farm-fresh food and drinks throughout the season. From grill favorites to roasted sweet corn and lots of seasonal treats, there is something delicious for everyone. View our full menu at lowefamilyfarmstead.com/food.

Do you serve vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or allergy-friendly options?

All of our food and drink items may contain or may have been exposed to dairy, eggs, wheat, nuts, tree nuts and shellfish. Lowe Family Farmstead cannot guarantee that allergens may not have been introduced during another stage of the food chain process or (even inadvertently) during preparation. We do not have separate kitchens to prepare allergen-free items or separate dining areas for guests with allergies or intolerances. Can I bring my own food?

Yes! You are welcome to bring your own food, desserts, birthday cake, or other food for your group. We do not, however, have electrical capacity for crock pots or water pots, and cooking on-site is not permitted. No alcohol is allowed on the property.

Is alcohol allowed at Lowe Family Farmstead?

No. Alcohol is not permitted at Lowe Family Farmstead. We are a family-focused destination and ask that guests do not from bringing or consuming alcohol on the property.

Can I fill my water bottle at the farm?

We recommend bringing your own sealed water bottles or purchasing beverages at our food stands. We do have two drinking fountains on-site. Staying hydrated is especially important on warm fall days!

Do Season Passholders get any food perks?

Yes! Platinum Passholders receive a Platinum Tumbler with FREE soda refills for the entire 2026 season. Regular Season Passholders receive a Coupon Booklet that includes a Discounted Souvenir Cup and other savings on food, drinks, and souvenirs.

8. Groups, Schools & Special Bookings

Do you offer group rates?

Do you accommodate school field trips?

Absolutely! We love welcoming school groups to Lowe Family Farmstead. Field trips are booked separately from regular public admission. Visit our Field Trips page at lowefamilyfarmstead.com/field-trips for curriculum connections, pricing, and booking information. Field trips are scheduled on select Fridays throughout the fall season and are designed for Pre-K through 3rd grade.

Do you offer homeschool days?

Yes! We offer dedicated Homeschool & Virtual Learning Days designed specifically for homeschool families. Visit lowefamilyfarmstead.com/homeschool-virtual-learning-day for more information and to RSVP for your group.

Can schools use Lowe Family Farmstead as a fundraiser?

Yes! School Fundraisers are a popular program at Lowe Family Farmstead. We will offer a promotional rate for your students, their families, and friends of just $12 per person plus tax. These weekdays are regularly priced at $16.99 plus tax. Additionally, we will donate to your school $1 from each admission. School FUNdraisers are scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings throughout the season. These FUNdraisers are for schools with students K-5th grade. Can we host a private event or birthday party at Lowe Family Farmstead?

Yes! Besides group pricing that begins at a minimum of 25 guests, we do not offer any specific birthday or event packages. If you’re looking for the perfect, stress-free birthday party, we’ve become a favorite destination for birthday parties!

Do you offer youth group rates?

How do I book a group visit?

For groups of 25 or more, simply purchase admission online and the discount will be applied automatically! For groups over 100, please fill out our Group Inquiry form at https://www.lowefamilyfarmstead.com/groups. For school field trips, visit lowefamilyfarmstead.com/field-trips. For smaller groups or general visits, you can purchase tickets online or at the gate.

Do you offer a 'Home Base' area for group gatherings?

Yes! We have pavilions and an event tent available for reservations. Rent one or more of our Pavilions for exclusive use by your group at Lowe Family Farmstead! Admission to Lowe Family Farmstead is required for each member of your group. Each Pavilion comes set with (2) 8 ft. picnic tables and a large trash can. To reserve our event tent space, there is a 50 guest minimum. Please fill out our Group Inquiry form at https://www.lowefamilyfarmstead.com/groups to inquire about availability for the tent. This is a 30ft. x 30ft. gathering spot for large groups with seating at 8ft. picnic tables, string lighting, and large trash cans.

9. Pets & Farm Animals

Can I bring my dog or other pets?

Pets are not permitted at Lowe Family Farmstead with one exception: trained service animals. However, we do have one very special day each season called Dog Day, when well-behaved dogs are welcome to join the fun! What about service animals?

Trained service animals are always welcome at Lowe Family Farmstead. Emotional support animals do not qualify under service animal designation and may not be permitted.

What farm animals can we see and interact with?

We have a wonderful variety of farmyard animals that guests of all ages love to visit and feed! You’ll see cows, goats, sheep, llamas, and more! Livestock feed is available for purchase.

Can we feed the animals?

Yes! Livestock feed is available for purchase at the farm. Feeding the animals is a beloved part of the experience at Lowe Family Farmstead, especially for young children.

10. Accessibility & Special Needs

Is Lowe Family Farmstead wheelchair accessible?

We welcome guests with mobility needs and make every effort to be accommodating. Many guests bring wheelchairs and strollers through the attractions. However, please be aware of these limitations:

Each phase of the main corn maze (The MAiZE) has steps up and down from a bridge, which is not accessible to wheeled vehicles.
The ground throughout the farm can be uneven and bumpy in places.
The Mini MAiZE may be a more accessible alternative for guests who cannot navigate the bridge steps.

We encourage all guests to come and experience what they can. Please contact us in advance if you have specific questions about accessibility. ADA/accessible parking is free and available.

Our goal is simple: to raise animals humanely, produce food we’re proud to feed our own families, and be transparent about how it’s done. We welcome conversations and any questions about our practices. Beef cattle are born and bred right here at LFF and pasture-raised on grass, corn stubble, and pumpkins. Finished on alfalfa and grain for the last 60-90 days (less-intensive system than most beef production operations but fits our farm and yields great quality products). Pork is pasture-raised for plenty of sunshine and exercise. Fed a free-choice ration of mixed grain. We do not routinely use antibiotics, we do not use hormone supplements in our livestock, and we do use vaccines as part of responsible animal care.
